It’s disgraceful and unacceptable that at a time when unnecessary budget cuts are decimating food, medical, and educational supports for low-income families, pregnant women continue to be pushed out of their jobs just as they take on all the expenses of having a new baby. I had to leave my job in my 7 month of pregnancy because I couldn’t cope with standing for 8 hours straight anymore. I was also getting minimal understanding about why I was passing certain duties off to my understanding coworkers. I’m lucky my mom was supportive of me quitting. I still can’t believe they wouldn’t let me have a stool to sit down on. It’s cruel. I wouldn’t have had maternity leave either. Shameful. I don’t know why society hates women so much.
