They definitely need to get on researching an emergency method that works for people over 176lbs. There are a lot of people in the world above that weight bracket, and this is a pretty big deal (and changing the dosage doesn’t work). I’m shocked to only just be learning this, actually.
Here’s the thing- all medicines become less effective the heavier a patient is. And with a drug like Levonorgestrel, which is highly lipophillic, you have vastly decreased effectiveness. Basically, it has to do with your body fat percentage. Additional body fat essentially sequesters the drug such that a higher dosage will not do anything to change the situation- thankfully, this is only one sort of Plan B, but we need at least warnings in the US about this.
